Serving children in Kindergarten - 6th grade.
Atonement After-school provides snacks, a time to cool down through group activities, small group homework assistance, and life skills classes.
One guiding principle that Atonement has desired to follow is to keep the program at a smaller number of children. This is to ensure that the students are getting the desired help that they need to increase their reading levels, math skills, and overall grades.
Providing a safe space for the students to come and complete their homework, but also feel loved
A program that is affordable and has a positive impact for parents
Standing in the gap to support equity in education, build and strengthen the academics, as well as social and emotional well being of the students
The lead Pastor and Executive Director, Jason Holloway had a dream of beginning an after-school program. This grew after seeing the need for a quality program within our community.
This program was designed to focus on the needs of the whole child. Our desire is to see beyond the grades by nurturing the heart, mind and soul. It was created to bridge the gap and provide the support to help the student achieve success in all areas of their lives.
This dream became a reality in the fall of 2018, when Alena Beeman joined the staff of The Philadelphia Project and the partnership began with Atonement. While getting the program in order and the curriculum developed, the program started with three students.
Atonement is now offering this program to over 12 kids and projected to grow within the next school year.
